DeKalb County

DHH Children

When DeKalb County DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) children called, JCCF was able to answer.  The problem was kids weren’t showing up for school in the morning. Coming from predominantly low-income families, many parents didn’t know sign language to communicate with their children and were unable to consistently wake up their children and ensure they made it to school. JCCF was able to provide each student with an alarm clock that shakes the bed so the students could exercise independence and wake up on their own.
