Evelyn

Smyrna second grader Evelyn was diagnosed with mild to moderate hearing loss after her first-grade teacher and family realized she couldn't understand everything she was hearing in school, nor could she hear clearly when she watched videos or television at home.  As an outgoing, fun-loving young girl, she was frustrated by these challenges.  Unfortunately, her family had fallen on some hard financial times and they were not able to cover the full cost of personal hearing aids for their daughter.  JCCF was happy to be able to assist her family with the cost of hearing aids and the necessary maintenance. Now Evelyn is even more confident and is doing amazingly well academically, and she has adjusted wonderfully to wearing her hearing aids!
